Hostels
Hostel facility is available to both boys and girls, though for a limited number of students. Students from outside Visakhapatnam can seek admission into the hostels by applying to
the Chief Warden of the Hostels.
Medical Centres
Both allopathic and homoeopathic medical centres are functioning on the campus. There are two allopathic medical centres, one in the North Campus and the other in the South
Campus. The homoeopathic medical centre is situated next to the telegraph office.
Cyber Laboratory
A Cyber Laboratory with internet facility has been established next to the Department of English for the benefit of students, scholars and staff. Anyone wishing to make use of this
facility can do so by becoming a member. For further details, Prof. Vijayaprakash, Department of Anthropology may be contacted.
Library
The University Library, officially designated Dr. V.S. Krishna Library, is one of the biggest libraries in the country with about 4,00,000 books. The library subscribes to many national
and international journals in all disciplines. There is a Reading Room attached to the Library for the benefit of the students. The Reading room and the Text Book section are kept
open round the clock.
Games and Sports
There are two play grounds, viz., The Silver Jubilee play ground and the Golden Jubilee Play ground on the campus. There is a department of Physical Education too. In addition,
there is also a Gymnasium.
Yoga
There is a Yoga Village on the beach road, attached to the Institute for Yoga and Consciousness, where various training programmes in yoga are conducted.
Psychological Services
Psychological assessment and counseling is available in the department of Psychology and Parapsychology. Those who wish to avail the services are required to take a prior appoint
ment in person or by making a call to telephone No. 2710031 or 2844430.
NSS
There is an NSS unit in the University, situated near the School of Distance Education, to encourage students to be involved in social service activities.
Assistance to Foreign Students
There is a Foreign Students' Advisor on the campus, who coordinates and monitors the requirements of the foreign students. Prof. U. Tataji of the Department of Sociology is the
present Foreign Students' Advisor.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Students are encouraged to take part in the campus Beautification Programme including gardening and horticulture, and also in the Janma Bhoomi Programme and the Clean and
Green Programme of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Other Academic Programmes
A remedial Course in English is conducted by the Department of English to cater to the needs of students with a rural background and to improve their communication skills.
